A safe haven for Developers who want to be treated fair

Gravity Collision is about making High Quality Games. We aim to do that by uniting the Gaming Community, and the Crypto Community under one banner, Fair Treatment. Tomorrow’s Article will go into Detail about Gamers and how they are Treated. Today though, we are talking about the mostly unseen side of Fair Treatment.

Game Developers.

How many Articles have come out about Game Developers being treated unfairly? There are so many issues in the Industry at the moment. While we can’t fix EVERY Industry (I’m looking at YOU Restaurant Industry…), we are trying to fix the Gaming Industry, by ending the unfair treatment of Game Developers. Today I’ll explain how we are doing that.

Burnout is one of the ways Developers are currently mistreated

Game Development

Right now, there is a balance problem with Game Development. Executives at AAA Game Studios need to continually improve their Quarterly Profits to get their Bonuses. They are accomplishing this by producing Games at a faster rate, by making Games with less Content in them, at a cheaper cost, for more profit.

  1. AAA Studios produce Games faster by cutting out large chunks of content, like Single Player Campaigns.
  2. Developers are overworked nearly the entire development cycle. Burnout is almost a GUARANTEED part of your Career.
  3. Games are then stuffed with Paid Content, on top of your initial $60 or $70 purchase. We are now seeing “Passes” become the Industries Normal. There is no uniqueness with Passes or Microtransactions. They aren’t using a Developer’s Creativity.

These are the reasons why we are currently seeing Developers leave big Studios.

Receiving a £111 Million Bonus, while laying off Developers is considered “Good Business”…..

The Developer Incentive Fund

The way we treat our Developers will be a little different compared to the Industry Standard.

We plan on offering them a 50% Raise over their existing Salary, no questions asked. Since we use Cryptocurrency (mainly GRAV-C, Ethereum, and USDC), we are offering an additional 10% if you decide to be paid in USDC (USDC is a 1:1 version of Cryptocurrency. It is backed by USD). Additionally, we are offering a further 5% for those who want to be paid in ETH (Ethereum).

We have a Developer Incentive Fund that will also provide two things for our Developers:

  1. A Sign On Bonus of 25,000 USDC
  2. A Delivery Bonus of 25,000 USDC for Developing our Shipped Games
New ways that Developers are treated fairly.

Our Developer Incentive Fund isn’t unlimited, and will eventually be depleted. We have run the math, and it should be funded for the first 1,250 Developers that we hire. We don’t plan on hiring THAT many (we will be looking to hire around 200 Developers), but our Fund should cover that many, over the life of the Studio.

Work Hours, Crunch and Paid Vacation

At our Game Studio, our work week is a Four Day work week. Four 10 Hour Days leaves you with a Three Day weekend. This never changes, even as our Studio approaches a Game Release.

Crunch is a result of your weekend being peer-pressured into only one day and/or working hours extended to 12, 16, or even 18 Work Days! While we will offer Overtime, in the form of working an additional day, there is no obligation to do so, and you will never be penalized for doing so. The Quality of your Work trumps how much you’re working, period. A well-rested Development Team, is a Happy Development Team!

We will be offering 2 Weeks of Paid Vacation, right out of the gate. As a Game Release approaches, we won’t disallow the use of Paid Vacation. There are no blackout dates. Take your Vacation, the way you want it.

These are our Game Studios Values, and should be the Industry Standard

Gravity Collision

These are our Values. They are built into every Game Developer’s Contract. While they may not be the Industry’s standard, that will change when they see how successful we are. We will tackle everything wrong with the Industry. The Fair Treatment of Developers and Gamers should be THEE Top Priority.

Have a good 4th of July!

See you tomorrow!
